Edouard Murat is the founder and director of HeadPause. He is an expert in all matters that concern the mind and wishes for anyone who desires change, to reach more focus, calm, and clarity in their lives.
In 2014, after his realization of how important the mind is to our daily lives and overall happiness, he quit his previous scientific career to resolutely discover methods in psychology that would lead to a definite increase in well-being for people having different mental backgrounds. He practiced passionately meditation and mindfulness since, and obtained his B.A. in Psychology at Concordia University.
Edouard personally understands how therapy, meditation, and the practice of mindfulness can help you overcome your current difficulties through knowledge, compassion, and practice. Even though we each have our individual traits and personalities, Edouard applies psychological methods that work at a level deeper than personality, to touch at the core of one’s issues and lead to final positive changes.
Edouard firmly believes that one should only teach what he truly knows and not endorse unknown methods. Therefore, he only teaches methods that he already practices himself. As he says: “A good therapist should steadily learn from his own mind and work at becoming a more trustworthy and compassionate person, in order to help others”.
He follows a rigorous schedule of sitting meditation for 30-60 minutes every single day since 2015, and engages in frequent mindfulness practices throughout the day. He also gives free meditation sessions in our community and teaches how mindfulness works and should be applied.
Edouard’s approach to increasing your well-being relies on knowledge, compassion, and well-guided effort. He uses a combination of cognitive, behavioral and emotional techniques to help you observe the current situation you are living in, learn a new set of skills necessary to change it, and apply effectively those skills.
To have lasting changes, there is no need for complicated actions but instead simple and well-guided practices. The approach that Edouard uses relies on few key concepts:
